How did you end up joining the #maker movement?
When oldest son get 3 years, I've started to search interesting things we can do with him.
I found Make Magazine newsletter, and subscribed to all 3 or 4 kinds: Faire, Pro, Shed and Education. We get some ideas for weekend projects, and it was so involving that i decided to find out more about the Faire. After some time for research we sign a contract and in 2015 we make two Kyiv Mini Maker Faire.
Then we go to Maker Faire Global Producers Summit, met a lot of amazing people, and now we develop Maker Movement all over the Ukraine
What do you most value in the innovation/maker environment?
Life style, philosophy of sharing the ideas and opportunities, stories.
What’s the maker movement outlook in your country?
DIY tradition is very strong, many people are makers just because they need it.
In your opinion, what features in your city/destination/country is more appealing to an innovation-oriented crowd?
Ukraine is strugling for changes. So it's time be innovative for all of us. StartUp community is really strong, IT specialists who want more for their children. Good old engineer tradition.
You seem to have been able to create such a nurturing environment around your FabLab/makerspace/hackerspace in (your country). What does your audience look like? Who do you mainly target – students, inventors, or… ?
With our team we created a MakerHub NGO to connect makers with ideas and partners and education. We run Raspberry Jam events, make people speak to each outher not ony at yearly Mini Maker Faire, but more often. We talk to schools, colledges and HiEd, invite them to connect to makers movement and insipre to make School Mini Maker Faires.

For people who don't know how to start making i want to show a lot of possibilities around the Ukraine: events, places, people.
What kind of events are you planning to organize during the EMW?
We going to make an open doors events in FabLabs, Museums and Hackerspaces around the country, ask people to dive in and make own project or connect to others people projects.
