Makers in Kosovo can rely on BONEVET

Makers in Kosovo can rely on BONEVET

BONEVET joins European Maker Week: 4 days of events awaits you to discover, learn, share, what’s so cool about the maker movement.

Since the very start, BONEVET was part of the maker movement happening all around the world, implementing their best practices, and receiving acknowledgement every day and more from other makerspaces and maker communities. Makerspace Directory, a grouping place of makerspaces around the globe, accepted BONEVET as a part of their community during last year, with BONEVET now collaborating on different ideas now and then with other similar creative spaces.

The last of these initiatives, probably the most popular one, will be organized starting on May 30th till June 5th.  European Maker Week is an initiative promoted by European Commission and implemented by Maker Faire Rome in collaboration with Startup Europe, aiming to draw European citizens to the “maker world” and the FabLab, Makerspaces, Hackerspaces, and the Hardware Startups Environment.

BONEVET was accredited to be part of this important event, and at the time, it was the first event being accredited in the Balkans. BONEVET plans on being active during this week (30 May – 3 June) with activities from fields of science, technology, arts, crafts, etc. This maker week will be open to anyone interested, free of charge and will have two main goals:
1. Create awareness about the importance of the maker culture in fostering an education of creativity.
2. Innovation in all schools, as well as build bridges between local authorities, media and makers.

People with different backgrounds who are willing to participate in do-it-yourself sessions in developing new unique technologies and innovative solutions can be part of workshops, demos, presentations, and many other activities.

Creation of 3D printers from scratch, designing 3D models, building mechanical creations using CNC machines, programming, electronics with Arduino, drawing or painting, littleBits and Scratch for kids, will be just some of the workshops we have planned for this special week.
